Erythritol is used as a bulking agent. It naturally occurs in various fruits and fermented foods. We at Magicleaf, source it naturally and add in our products to provide more sugar-like texture and mouthfeel. It also helps to reduce the cooling effect that some people experience with Stevia alone. 

Additionally, it does not affect blood sugar levels or cause any tooth decay like sugar does. 

Erythritol is considered safe for consumption by regulatory authorities around the world, including the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

Bulking agents (Food) are non-nutritive additives that increase the bulk (volume or weight) of a food without affecting its taste and keeping its utility and functionality intact.

Since Stevia extract is a high intensity sweetener (200 – 300 times sweeter than Sugar), a bulking agent is usually blended to make it spoon-able for household usage. We use Erythritol as a bulking agent.
